Dr. Lynn Elder, teacher, counselor, seminar speaker, and author, lives her life dedicated to helping others reach their fullest potential through a relationship with Jesus Christ. For more than forty years Lynn has traveled around the world sharing her message of hope for the hopeless, healing for the hurting, and freedom from the bondage of this world. Through the many facets of her ministry she has helped thousands discover valuable answers for life, helping them receive all they have hoped for and more.
Lynn was born in Canada where she met her future husband, Ray, in 1967 while visiting friends. They were married in 1970, and, like many people, Lynn found the first years of marriage to be hurtful and disappointing. In the late 70’s, God began to show Lynn areas in her life that had to be changed in order for their marriage to last. These changes in Lynn brought about a change in Ray, and since then, God has enhanced their marriage, ministry and lives together. Through this discovery Lynn also learned how to have healthy relationships with her family and friends.
In 1977, Lynn felt God leading her to write down the practical lessons He had taught her through her experiences. It was then that she penned her first book entitled, “I Love You But Not Your Behavior.” For many years she used the material in this book to teach and counsel people from all walks of life. In the early 90’s, Lynn wrote her second book and a companion workbook called “I Dare You,” and it is now in its fourth printing. This important book was written to help us deal with the everyday problems we face in our own lives and tackle the difficult issues that are common in our relationships with others.
In February of 2011, Lynn received her Doctor of Divinity from Evangelical Bible College and Seminary and her certificate of ordination.
Over the years, Lynn has used the principles found in the Bible, along with principles she has learned through her own pursuit of healthy relationships, to shine the light of truth into the lives of countless people. She is a sought after teacher, speaking in church services, seminars, and revival meetings all over the world. She served with her husband, Ray, as directors of Teen Challenge in Nashville, Tennessee for thirteen years. She has made numerous appearances on national and local television shows including Canada’s “It’s A New Day.” In addition she has spent countless hours listening, counseling, teaching, and caring hundreds of people through the most difficult chapters of their lives.
Whatever the setting, God has used Lynn to open the eyes of countless people to some of the most fundamental yet revolutionary principles of healthy living. Though she has many years of experience behind her, the best is yet to come.
